rare French occupational albumen print of a tailor in original frame, ca. 1866
Very unusual French albumen print (or coated salt print) housed as in it's original quarter plate faux tortoiseshell passe-partout and black wood and plaster frame. Depicting a tailor at work on sewing machine surrounded by his shop or family. Photo taken outside in front of a window.

The reverse of frame shows modern European resealing paper and an inscription in French, which reads: "Article du Journal colle au dos Février 1866 / le tailleur et sa famille / acheté à Amboise Printemps 1997"
