Jean-Baptiste Igout: artist study of a woman, ca. 1875
Probably by Jean-Baptiste Igout but first attributed to Dr. Hermann Heid. Heid's and Igout's photographs differed in style and context. Heid had his models take very conventional poses against a neutral background without trappings, while Igout had them strike their poses in a decor awash with accessories. Heid also used a code with his negative numbers that started with "E" for women and "F" for men. [info by Patrick Montgomery]
