She is looking straight into the camera.The naked man is wearing only a nightcap, his face is not visible. The fascinating look of the young woman and the rather uncomfortable pose in the studio make for a remarkable photo.

The albumen prints are hand tinted. Some collodion spots on the negative are visible in the lower right corner. Stamped "M.F." and numbered "58_" on the verso. Two later collection labels on the verso.
