A recording photograph with an unusually modern look for a 19th century image.
The albumen print shows at least 13 impacts of grenades on a large metal target. Crosses were painted on it. The impacts were numbered for examination. This photo has an unintentionally modernistic feel. Like the famous "The Queens Target" by Roger Fenton.
