A colorful example of the autochrome technique. These five ladies pose happily for a female photographer, she is present as a shadow in this group portrait.
This small image is a glass positive in color, invented by Lumière, 1907. The autochrome plate was the first three-color photography process on the market and belongs to the group of additive color processes. The medium consists of a mosaic of colored potato starch on a glass plate.
