Playing Chess: cabinet card and stereo print, ca. 1875
A fascinating duo.
The photographs are the same. But the presentation and experience are totally different!
Six men are playing and looking to the chess board on a small table. Only one of them is looking to the camera, the others are thinking about the play.
The floor in the foreground is beautiful. The background looks like a simple cloth.
The cabinet card is in good condition. The print is a little loose at the bottom. Small bump on the lower left corner. It's a very shiny photograph, a citrate print I do believe.
The stereocard is made with an albumen print. A little salty with some dirt on the cardboard and spots on the print.
