Dr Hermann Heid (1834-1891) was born in Germany and active in Austria. He made nude studies for painters and sculptors during his career. His work is often mixed up with the nude studies made by Igout.
This one is a very strong and fascination pose. Her hair beautifully made up. She stands on a raise covered with blankets. A chair is partly visible in the back.
The unmounted albumen print is in very good condition. Nice 'chocolate brown' color. Numbered in the negative, lower left corner: E. 272.
