Gerhard Riebicke (1878 - 1957) was Germany's most important sports, dance and nudist photographer between 1925 and 1935. His images were widely published in Germany and abroad in magazines, newspapers and books. His images were also shown in the legendary avant-garde photography exhibition "Film und Foto" in Stuttgart (1928) and Vienna (1930). Riebicke's photo archive in Berlin was largely destroyed during World War II.
