Ernest Meissonier: Napoleonic collection, Palais de la Guerre, 1889
A very fascinating image. Ernest Meissonier had a nice collection of uniforms from the Napoleonic era. He used them as reference for his military paintings. Some rare 'sabretaches' from the 1st Empire are visible together with cuirasses, swords, a helmet, and several costumes. In many ways an interesting historical document.
The exposition in the Palais de la Guerre was held in 1889, the same year he received the Grand Cross
