Disdéri: mosaique cdv of Joseph Bonaparte, ca. 1865
A rare albumen mosaique CdV of Prince Joseph Bonaparte made by Disderi. Four different poses on one Carte de Visite. This way of presenting a 'mosaïque' is not common.
Very difficult to read, but titled at the recto in the print.
Prince Joseph Lucien Charles Napoléon Bonaparte, 3rd Prince de Canino et Musignano, was a grandson of Prince Lucien Bonaparte.
Born on 13 February 1824 at Philadelphia in Pennsyvania, he was the son of Charles Lucien Jules Laurent Bonaparte, 2nd Prince de Canino, and Zénaïde Laetitia Julie Bonaparte. He succeeded to the title 3rd Prince de Canino in 1857.
He died on 2 September 1865 in Rome, aged 41, and was succeeded by his brother.
