Unknown photographer, circle of Gustave de Beaucorps.

Waxed paper negative of a man sitting near a tree. The man wears a workers shirt and a cap. His shadow is clearly visible behind him. A washing line hangs from the tree with two pieces of cloth hanging. Maybe as a reflector to light up a darker part?
Could be a farmer, maybe an artist or his assistent.

ca. 18,2 x 14,3 cm
ca. 1855

Calotype paper negatives are rare. Outdoor portraits like this one are even rearer!
Uneven trimmed. Normal traces of age and use.
