Barboni: daguerreotype of a man with cane, Brussels ca. 1855
A very beautiful and rare Belgian daguerreotype portrait of a young man. He looks like a dandy with his elegant cane.
Before being a photographer Jaques Raphaël Barboni (1803-1878) produced and sold suspenders and collars. His portraits were known for their finesse.
His son Adrien (1834-1866) became a partner in the studio around 1850.
