Six women are doing laundry by a stream. There is also a little pig walking around drinking. It is unusual in early photography history to photograph this kind of hard work. The photo has the spontaneous atmosphere of a reportage. The everyday subject is also rather unusual to capture.

The large albumen print has small traces of use and cut corners. The primitive atmosphere of the print is beautiful.
