The second edition of "La Photographie Moderne" by Albert Londe (1858 - 1917). Published by G. Masson, Paris 1896. A manual with 791 pages, 346 illustrations in the text and five plates "hors-texte". Red cloth cover with gilt title.

A well-illustrated survey, which covers all areas of photography. This edition is greatly enlarged from the 1888 first edition and includes the author's twelve lens camera and other apparatus of his design for chronophotography and artificial lighting. Albert Londe was an influential French photographer, medical researcher and chronophotographer. He was the director of the photographic services at the Salpétrière Hospital in Paris and worked with Jean-Martin Charcot photographing the muscular movements of patients.
